Potential problems/solutions for the OTG Solar Chargers and BayouFuel Power Banks
Problem Solution
Solar charger does not turn on.
  • Charge the OTG from the wall socket.
Solar charger cannot charge digital devices.
  • Try plugging digital device into the other USB port.
  • Ensure that the OTG is switched on.
When plugged into iPhone/iPad, a message appears to say ‘This device is not supported’.
  • This happens when there is insufficient power in the OTG to charge devices.
  • Recharge the OTG under the sun or from the wall socket.
Solar charger switches off by itself.
  • When left idle for 15s, the OTG will go into power saving mode. Press thumbwheel to turn it on again.
LEDs no. 2 & 3 on battery indicator are blinking.
  • Unplug any connected digital device(s) or power adaptor, then press the on/off switch to reset the OTG.
Solar charger does not charge fully after placing it under the sun.
  • Ensure that the OTG is placed under the sun for a sufficient period of time for charging (check user guide for charge times).
mPowerpad 2 takes a long time to charge via the wall socket.
  • Ensure that the power adaptor output is rated 5.3Vdc 2A.
There is no sound emission when radio function is activated.
  • Check if the volume has been adjusted.
  • Try to seek another radio station.
  • Ensure you are not in a place where there is interference such as inside a building, lift or car park.

Solar charger does not turn on.
  • Charge solar charger.
Solar charger cannot charge digital devices.
  • Ensure that the solar charger is switched on.
When plugged into an iPhone/iPad, a message appears to say ‘this device is not supported’.

  • Fully recharge the OTG under the sun or from the wall socket.
Solar charger switches off by itself.
  • When no functions are selected, the device automatically turns off after 1 minute.
  • Charge solar charger.
Solar charger is not charging from the wall socket.
  • Ensure that power adaptor output is rated 9Vdc 1.3A with the right polarity on the connector.
Solar charger does not charge fully after more than 6 hours under the sun.
  • Place solar charger under direct sunlight with solar panel facing the sun.
  • Try charging the device from the wall outlet to ensure that batteries are operational.
Solar charger takes more than 2 hours to charge from the wall socket.
  • Ensure that the power adaptor output is rated 9Vdc 1.3A.
  • Try using another power adaptor.
  • Change batteries.
Light is dim when reading light and flashlight are turned on.
  • Charge the solar charger from the wall socket.
  • Ensure that battery level is indicating at least one LED.
  • Change batteries.
